The Off-White x Nike Dunk Low collection is inspired by concepts of disintegration and reconstruction. This model in University Red and grey leather has vintage branding, a blown-up text design on the medial side, and a distinctive highlighted Swoosh on the lateral side. With the Nike Dunk Low Off-White University Red, Virgil Abloh pays tribute to skate culture's embrace of 1980s Nike Basketball models. When Nike introduced the Dunk as the focus of their Nike College Colors programme in 1985, the original colorways included seven different institutions. The UNLV school colours are represented by the university red colorway.

The top of this Dunk Low is made of wolf grey leather with university red accents. The design is completed by an innovative additional lacing system, zip-ties, as well as characteristic Off-White writing on the sides. Featuring a visible tongue foam and a floating heel tab, Abloh conveys his deconstructivist aesthetic through the Nike Dunk Low Off-White University Red. A two-toned rubber cupsole is included on the sneaker.

Released as a collegiate sneaker, Nike Dunks can now be found on the feet of celebrities and commoners alike. Limited editions like the Off White Dunks, from the 2019 collab between Nike and Virgil Abloh’s design label Off-White, further cemented Dunks’ place in sneaker folklore.
